The Hideaway At Windermere is a restaurant with rooms offering a welcome with warmth and a whole lot more than a place to stay. The aim is simple: to offer attractive peaceful rooms, great service and superb food in a relaxed, stylish environment.

Surrounded by peace and tranquillity, yet in the heart of it all, the Hideaway At Windermere is conveniently located, close to the very centre of the charming village of Windermere, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District.

The price includes a generous full cooked English breakfast, prepared to order, tea and home-made cakes and a daily newspaper.Built in 1890, the house boasts many beautiful original Victorian features, including ornate stone window frames and a geometrically tiled hallway. Ever evolving, the house blends traditional style and charm with contemporary influences to create a relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Relax in the stylishly refurbished lounge and enjoy a morning coffee, afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap. In the summertime, you can enjoy the fresh air and the sunshine in the peaceful private garden.

With beautiful original features, traditional charm, contemporary style and modern comforts and facilities, the Hideaway At Windermere is a great base, whether you are exploring the region’s spectacular scenery on foot or simply enjoying a peaceful relaxing break.

These smaller comfortable double rooms are located on the first floor. Each room has one double bed, a 20-inch LCD flat-screen TV and en suite bathroom with a bath, with a shower over the bath. These bedrooms have been refurbished, though the en suites bathroom have not.

This larger and more spacious double room is located on the second floor and has a king-size bed. There is a 20-inch LCD flat-screen TV and an en suite bathroom with a bath, with a shower over the bath. The bathroom is small with a sloping ceiling and has not been refurbished.

These rooms have a king-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a spa bath and a separate shower. These bathrooms are traditional in style and have not been refurbished.

These rooms were completely refurbished in January 2008 and now feature stylish, luxurious and contemporary design features and amenities. Each room has a king-size leather bed with Tempur mattress, a 26-inch LCD flat-screen TV and an en suite bathroom with extra-deep Victorian-style roll-top bath, a large separate walk-in shower, under floor heating and luxury bathroom products and toiletries.

One of the rooms is accessed via the courtyard and has its own private patio and the other offers split-level accommodation, with the levels connected by a stylish spiral staircase.

These rooms have super-king-size beds or king-size beds. Some rooms have beds that can be converted into 2 (twin) single beds.

The rooms have an en suite bathroom with a bath and/or a shower.

Christmas Eve: Arrive in time for tea, coffee, mulled wine and homemade cakes, served between 15:00 and 17:00. Enjoy a delicious 4-course dinner in the AA Red Rosette restaurant in the evening.

Christmas Day: Wake on Christmas morning and enjoy a leisurely festive breakfast. An 8-course traditional Christmas lunch will be served at 13:30. Relax in the afternoon and be tempted by the buffet supper.

Boxing Day: Full English breakfast will be served, and then the day is your own. There is a 3-course dinner in the evening.
