Conveniently positioned halfway between Windermere and Bowness, within easy reach of the country’s largest lake, this 19th century house offers relaxed, peaceful charm.
Built in 1879, this one-time doctor’s house and surgery retains its extra-wide doorways and authentic Victorian tiled hallway, with changes made to the building only to add comfort without sacrificing character. You will also have access to the swimming pool, gym, sauna and jacuzzi at a local private leisure club just a 20-minute walk away.
Sparkling wine, champagne and flower arrangements can be added to your room as a delightful finishing touch.Braemount House is delighted to accept well-behaved children over the age of 10, provided that parents exercise control where necessary in order to maintain the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere for other guests.

There are several 4-poster rooms to suit all requirements, from 2 four-poster rooms with a bath and shower to the quirky 4-poster room in the loft, which has a romantic corner bath set in the room. This imposing deluxe loft suite has a double bedroom and a sitting room. The sitting room has a sofa bed to convert the suite into a twin. This large room has a sofa and a king-size 4-poster bed. This superior room also features upgraded amenities and those little extras that mean a lot, such as soft, fluffy bathrobes and a 32-inch LCD TV. This room has been fully refurbished room and now has contemporary decoration and a king-size bed.
The king-size bed can be split to form 2 twin single beds. Please inform the hotel of your preference regarding bed types on the day of booking, by using the comments field when making your reservation. This quiet, cosy room is situated towards the rear of the house. |

Directions
By Car:
- From the M6, take junction 36 and join the A591.
- As you enter Windermere, turn left, following the town centre sign.
- Pass through the town's one-way system and then take the 1st left after the clock tower, signed Queens Drive.
- Then take the 1st right into Sunny Bank Road.
- Braemount House is situated 50 metres up on the left hand side, with private car parking on both sides of the house.
By Train:
From Windermere Station (1.6 km / 1 mile):
- Taxis are readily available for this short transfer.
- If proceeding on foot, exit the station and head left towards High Street.
- Take the left fork into Victoria Street and then turn left into Crescent Road.
- Follow this main road for approximately 700 metres, until you reach Queen's Drive on your left.
- Take this street and Sunny Bank Road will be ahead on the right.
Cancellation Policy
- If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
- If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
